Students Visit #MLK50 Exhibit
18 February 2013
We had the pleasure of inviting the graduating class from the École primaire Lambert-Closse to visit the #MLK50 exhibit, in collaboration with the Montreal Roundtable on Black History Month and one of the exhibit’s curators, Steve Smith.
The 28 students and 2 teachers discovered #MLK50, a photo and art exhibit commemorating the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.’s historic “I have a dream” speech, via a series of questions prepared by Smith. Before leaving, one lucky student won a prize donated by the Consulate which included postcards of iconic images of Martin Luther King, a video of the documentary The March, as well as an iPod Shuffle pre-loaded with 15 songs written about Dr. King and a recording of his “I have a dream” speech.
#MLK50 was presented free of charge at Espace Culturel Georges-Émile-Lapalme in Place des arts, February 5-18, 2013.
