U.S. Consul General visits Sherbrooke and Bromont
13 April 2012
U.S. Consul General Andrew Parker recently visited the city of Sherbrooke, Quebec, which is about a half hour by car from the U.S. border.
He met with Mayor Bernard Sévigny to learn about the city, and with advisors to National Assembly members from the region for a good discussion on political and economic issues in the community. The Consul General and his wife, Sheryn Hylton-Parker, also toured the Sherbrooke Historical Society’s excellent exhibits on the history and evolution of the community.
The visit concluded with a roundtable with local business leaders at the Sherbrooke Chamber of Commerce, and visits to the IBM and GE Aviation plants in nearby Bromont.
