Lee McClenny, U.S. Consul General, Montreal
Lee McClenny assumed responsibilities as Consul General of the United States in Montreal in September 2008. Most recently, Mr. McClenny served as Minister-Counselor for Public Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Manila (2005-2008) and as Press Counselor at the U.S. Embassy in London (2001-2005). He has also held posts overseas at U.S. Embassies in Ottawa, Belgrade and Guatemala City and as Deputy Spokesman of NATO at the alliance's headquarters in Brussels. Mr. McClenny served in Washington, D.C. at the Department of State both as Director of the Press Office and as the Public Affairs Advisor in the Bureau of Inter-American Affairs.
Mr. McClenny is a career member of the Foreign Service with the rank of Minister-Counselor. He speaks Spanish, French, Serbo-Croat and Russian with varying degrees of ability, and is a multiple recipient of the Superior Honor Award and the Meritorious Honor Award.
Mr. McClenny is a native of San Francisco, California, and a graduate of the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. He is the father of two children: Blake, age 18 and Kate age 16.
